Valentine Meal

When you heard the word "Valentine" you'll think of February 14th, Saint Valentine's Day.
And of course, your mind will be filled with stuffs like roses, hearts, love, couples, pink, red, and of course, chocolates.

In the spirit of Valentine, I tried to put hearts and chocolates in my meal.
A generous heart-shaped chicken croquette with rice for the main and chocolate mousse cake with coffee mascarpone and ice cream.

I found the recipe for chicken croquette from a 20-minute meals cookbook and chocolate mousse cake online.

Here's the recipe for the cake (from http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/6438/chocolate+mousse+cake):

  • Ingredients
  • 500g dark chocolate
  • 2 tbs golden syrup
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbs caster sugar
  • 1 tbs plain flour, sifted
  • Melted chocolate, to decorate
  • Chocolate sorbet, to serve

Coffee mascarpone

  • 200g mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tbs instant coffee
  • 2 tbs pure icing sugar

  • Method
  1. Step 1
Preheat oven to 220°C. Grease and line the base of a 20cm round spring-form cake pan with non-stick baking paper.
  2. Step 2
Melt the chocolate, golden syrup and butter in a bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Step 3
Place eggs and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer or use an electric hand beater and beat on high for 10 minutes until very thick and pale. Gently fold in the flour then fold in the chocolate mixture until combined. Pour into the cake pan and bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 12 minutes. Remove from oven and run a knife around the edge of the cake. Remove collar from cake pan and transfer the cake to the fridge for 1 hour to cool (this step is important as it sets the middle of the cake).
  4. Step 4
Meanwhile, to make the coffee mascarpone, dissolve coffee in 1 tablespoon of boiling water and set aside to cool. Beat together the mascarpone, coffee and sugar in a bowl until stiff.
  5. Step 5
To make the chocolate leaf, brush non-toxic leaves with the melted chocolate. When cool, peel the leaf off.
  6. Step 6
Slice the cake and serve with a dollop of coffee mascarpone, a chocolate leaf on top and a scoop of sorbet on the side.

To be a Better Blog

Whenever I wrote a blog, I wanted it to be good, interesting, grammatically correct.
However, I think I avoided programming a little bit too much here, knowing that even simple bold and italic format will start with that sharp bracket.

Maybe I was too lazy that time, I really want to learn how to create an interesting layout for my blog. I even wanted to create another blog now.

I always post blog without seeing how it will turn out, just type with several "enter" button hit. And this new blog surface proofed me that if I want to create a nice blog, that's not the way it should be.

I've been typing in HTML format since I swapped into the new interface, unconsciously. And what's bad is that I never checked how it looked from reader's point of view. And I just checked it this morning and went OMG.

I have many things to learn about web, I want to know more than just browsing. I want to write a nice blog, well, this blog is all about my thoughts where I just want to write. I want to write another blog where I want more people to read it, and I'm still in the stage of thinking what kind of blog will be interesting for me to write and for others to read.

I'll be learning bit by bit to make my blog much more interesting, in term of format!

The new Macbook Pro 15-inch!

Hi hi~~~

I've calmed down and everything's fine now~ (well, except for the exam though....)
All problems we're solved. ^^

And noww~~~~
I just received my new macbook pro 15-inch which I just purchased from the Apple Store Online last week!
I'm so excited and this is my first post using the macbook, hahaa......

Well, it's truly massive! It's huge, yet light. And it has strong battery life as well! Well done Apple! I've been using this new mac this evening, and I can use it for about 6 hours straight! Now that's what I'm talking about! ;)

Tomorrow there will be an inspection to our unit by our landlord and the agent.
We're gonna take our leave early in the morning because we don't want to see them, lol!
So~ we're gonna have a western style brekkie, or brunch, tomorrow! I'm enticed even more now!

You should see out unit now, it looks very spacious now, and look at my room! XD
My room will only stay like that this night though, it will turn back by tomorrow.... T__T

Oh well, maybe that's all for now, we all need to sleep, coz we need to wake up early, hehe~
